CAS PORTFOLIO

In cooperation with medical students organization IMFSA Poland I had an opportunity to carry out charity action "Miś pod szpitalną choinkę". I was responsible to conduct it in my school. We gathered the whole box of teddy bers (only in Staszic) that were later given to kids that were in University Children Hospital. Their happiness and laughter when they were receiving toys made me conceive how important it is to share with and help others.

As a 3rd graders, my class organized 12th edition of Lublin Model United Nations. I acted as a Security Council Chair for the first time. It was a great experience that improved my communication and leadership skills. I bind my future with management, and managing people more and more often becomes a foundation in such professions. That's why it was a test for me, how I feel in such an environment as a leader. In addition, the topic is discussed about which is being said less and less, and is still tragic in consequences for many people. Media attach less and less attention to events that have already "burned out", but we must remember that a few hundred km from us are still happening. I think that the choice of civil war in Syria as a topic of discussion allowed the delegates to understand how important help and peaceful resolution of conflicts is.

21.03 - 07.04 https://www.facebook.com/1lolublinstaszic/videos/937572049678749/ As a group of four ambitious students interested in cinematography and film making, we decided to create a short video about various school profiles. One of my colleague's dad is a professional film maker, this is why we possessed an expensive and professional equipment. My main task was managing the group and to some extent directing. Working in a group was really challenging due to our different views and ideas, however I think that our final product is a synthesis of all of our ideas.

While visiting the Museum in Bełżec, out teachers started the initiative to translate one of the books that was available to buy there. It was in order to make the knowledge about history of Roma people more accessible for foreigners as almost every material there was only in Polish. As one of the volunteers I translated the part about awareness of Roma extermination, educational conference and workshops for children and their reflexion about it. I did not only improved my language skills but also gathered additional knowledge about Roma people. I am glad to be a part of the group that to some extent contribute to the spread of awareness of Roma history.

The Exchange was part 2 of my CAS project and project about Roma people. This experience contributed to the gathering of knowledge about this minority and its history in Germany. It was also the amazing time with culture exchange with Germans and Greeks.

Before Easter, I took part in a food collection for the homeless and the poor. It is very important to try to make others feel good during such a holiday. If we believe in karma, then if we give something from ourselves, good will come back to us. I think that we should give something away, because nothing else makes us more human.

This year I also took part in the next edition of Amnesty International - the marathon of writing letters. I wrote about 15 letters, and the whole school produced them nearly 2000. I hope that our efforts will bring results.

I love cinematography. Being the volunteer during Golden Anteaters Film Festival was a great experience. I was in the Art Committee and preparing the Centre of Cultre for the festival. Meanwhile I could meet some actors and directors of really inspiring short movies.

In 2017 we have celebrated the 430th jubilee of my high school. I was decorating the gymnasium for the ball and selling food in cafeteria. It was really enjoyable to talk to the alumni and share our experiences.

In October I volunteered to help in conducting Konfrontacje Teatralne festival. My job was to assist the audience as well as the artists. It was a great fun to set the scenery made of 2000 (!) rubber figurines.
